• Start: 7:00 pm
• Outyards
  • Everyone should now have brought their hives home.
  • 4 left onsite when Don was out on Sunday.
  • Approx. 70 hives were moved to the outyards this year (89 reserved spots)
• Planning activities
  • October meeting; new Beekeeper corner; How to get bees ready for the winter. Recipes for fondant & sugar cake.
  • Fending off wasps, wasp traps
  • Still working on an October speaker…
  • Planning potluck dessert party for November meeting
  • Identify volunteer for education coordinator role to replace Nairn Hollot
• Membership
  • Unable to get approval for artwork on membership card, have found an alternate picture for next years membership card.
  • Received information from Dancing Bee with sales information, thanked them for their information, no further action.
  • Satin Flower Nursery, looking into potential discount for club members.
• Saanich Fair
  • Request from commercial beekeeper to advertise/set up at the CRBA booth.
  • Executive have decided that the booth is about bee awareness & education.
  • Unfair to allow one commercial beekeeper and not all, best to have commercial participants located in the Farmers Market area.
• Hive Hosting
  • Have received several inquiries on owners who are looking to host hives. Interested parties can go to the website and submit their names to be added to a list that members can draw from.
  • Communicate with members and ensure list is current.
• Luxton Fall Fair
  • Request for a hive display received by Carolyn
  • Unfortunately, not enough time to organize the resources for this request, Victoria to reply to requestor.
