Tags for the Outyards will be available at the June and July meetings (in person only) to be purchased at $7.50 per tag.
Backyard science projects – members to apply for a club grant of $100 maximum per project. The executive recommended that a committee be struck to oversee what the criteria should be for these projects.
Send out an email to the members to remind them about the Day of the Honeybee on the lawn of the Legislature.
Carolyn H would like an email sent out to remind the members to register their location of their hives with the swarm committee so the location can be entered on the swarm map and also register with the provincial apiarist.
Carolyn brought up that her hives did not come out of the fireweed in great health. She was wondering about the nutrition that the fireweed has.
Small groups – North Saanich is the most active and Gordon Head has met once. No word on the remaining small groups.
Alanna delivered the money from the Iotron trip to the treasurer Kazlyn at the meeting. She also has renewed the paper copy and digital download for the magazine Bee Culture for another year.
Meeting adjourned at 8:46pm.
