• Nairn Hollott – Seedy Saturday appeared to be a success though there was a question about the value of the presence of the CRBA Discussion addressed the growing interest by the public in bees and the need to be present at such events to answer questions and promote the club. Carolyn Hissen’s two-page guide and the annual general report can be used as information pieces at upcoming events. Next Events:
  April 16th: Creatively United for the Planet at Royal Bay (Coordinator: Nairn Hollott)
  May 14th: Quadra Days Information Booth (Coordinators: Joanne and Greg Davidson)
  Action items:
  • Nairn to send a note to Werner with the key contact information and a request to distribute to club members who may volunteer.

  • Bill to talk to Werner about setting up a mail forwarder for the club.
  • Nairn to forward Powerpoint presentation of flowers blooming by month
  • Alanna to provide summary information resulting from March 9th trip to Iotron
• Lisa Redding – First Field Day – Sunday April 17th in Grant Stringer’s bee yard. This will be a chance for mentors to attend and meet those looking for support.
  Action item:
  • Lisa to work with Peter to remove the mentor list from the public website and vet those who wish to have mentors.
• Constitution Committee Update – Next meeting Monday March 21st
• Jody suggested that we should highlight swarm season on the home page of our web site. She also noted that Google search does not bring us close to the top of the list when people are looking for someone to address a bee swarm. She will talk to Peter Willis about both these web site issues.
• Nairn – We need to have someone provide a “what to do this month” for all beekeepers.
  Action item:
  • Bill to approach Larry Lyndall to speak for 10 minutes each meeting for next quarter.
• We need some help to support Jenn so that someone can be at each meeting with bee supplies.
  Action items:
  • Lisa will check in with Jenn to see if she has any suggestions and work out a plan
  • Nairn to provide list of bee friendly flowers to Peter to add to website.
• Catherine led the group in an exercise to define three areas of response to the Health Canada PMRA about the re-evaluation of Imidacloprid.
  Action item:
  • Catherine to complete the draft response and circulate before sending to Health Canada by March 18, 2016
• Next Exec meeting: April 18, 2016 starting at 7:00PM
