Executive Meeting – February 13, 2017
1902 High Park Place – 7:00 PM
Attending: Carolyn Hissen, Irene Tiampo, Bill Fosdick, Jody Aylard, Michelle Sims and Greg Davidson (standing in for Joanne Davidson)
Bill called the meeting to order at 7:10 PM
Quorum was not met.
- Elections – VP’s and Treasurer
Bill has been approached by members who have expressed interest in the Treasurer’s position and Bill will approach members for the VP’s positions.
Werner will continue to be BeeLine editor. Jennifer Olsen will do “Bee Meds”. - Constitution/By-Laws and the AGM minutes will be sent out to the members in an email.
- Membership application and payment to be implemented through Paypal shortly.
- Loss Survey – Bill will approach Shirley Richardson to see if she do the survey again this year.
- March’s Presentation – Dave McDonald’s trip to Haiti.
- Seedy Saturday – Bob Lucy is the convenor. One of the exhibitors will have an observation hive on site.
- April meeting – Bob Lucy will be talking of allergies in general and bees in particular.
- Iotron Trip to be in March. Alanna will contact members that signed up to participate, where and when to deliver their equipment for the Iotron trip.
- The executive would like to thank Paul van Westendorp for his in-depth presentation on Varroa Mites to the CRBA members.
- Saanich Fair – There is a budget for up grading the exhibit at the Saanich Fair of approximately $200. Carolyn and Irene will look into purchasing pictures that are put into frames and then put into a standard hive box.
- Swarms – remind members to register the location of their beeyards with the swarm committee.
