Executive Meeting (August 2019)

Minutes

Present: Carolyn H, Don L, Bill F, Irene T, Kimberley B and Kazlyn B

Bill called the meeting to order at 7:30PM.

September meeting: Things to do with bee products. Larry – Propolis, Jennifer Olson could be asked. Tara B for lip balms, Carolyn wax wraps, Wax candles.

October meeting: Winterizing the hive. Last chance on mites. How to wrap a hive.

Bill brought up to the executive the purchase of a third extractor. A suggestion to have 3 places that members could borrow (at a cost) an extractor, a vaporizer and an observation hive. Oak Bay, Gordon Head and Langford areas were suggested.

The club would like feedback from members on the new product Formic Pro for treating mites. Polling the members on what they are using for mite control in the hive and what are their results. The survey could be sent out in October for results at the November meeting which is our wind up party before the end of the year.

Bill Spriggs Memorial – September 29th at the Mary Winspear Hall. The CRBA to provide a floral arrangement in a smoker and donate a honey product platter at the reception. A motion to send a floral arrangement in the amount of $50.00 to the celebration of life for Bill Spriggs was made by Kimberley, seconded by Don. Carried
