Bill F called the meeting to order at 7:20 PM.
May Agenda – Inventions and Contraptions – Have a blurb go out to invite members who have ideas to
volunteer to show their ideas to the membership.
May Agenda for the Newbie Corner – To go over the mite treatments from the April general meeting. What to do with your new nuc? How to transfer the nuc to their new home in the hive.
June Agenda – Bob Liptrot on his trip to Sri Lanka – Bill to contact Bob, Native Bees of South Vancouver
Island – Irene to contact to see if available.
T-Shirt design contest – members to design a T-shirt for the club to sell. Recognition will be decided later. “Capital Region Beekeepers” “Know your local beekeeper” The contest to be announced at the May meeting with the deadline at the July meeting to be able to show the membership what has been submitted.
Tags for the Outyard – Tags to be green this year. A motion to raise the fee for the Outyard to $7.50 per hive (maximum of 5 hives per member) was made by Carolyn H, seconded by Don L. Motion carried.
Day of the Honeybee – May 29th
Quadra Day – Bill will contact Greg and Joanne Davidson to see if they will manning the booth at this event.
South Island BCHPA Region Rep – Paul Peterson
Swarm Committee – Carolyn H has not heard back from Michelle about the mapping of members beeyards. Bill will follow up on this.
Bee Culture – Alanna H informed the executive that the subscription has run out and should she renew the subscription for the hard copy and the digital.
There is an extra cabinet in the meeting room and it needs to be cleaned out to make it available to store the projector and the projector screen. It is to be locked as our pop-up projector screen has gone missing.
