Executive Meeting – April 17, 2017

Attending: Michelle Sims, Irene Tiampo, Alanna Morbin, Bill Fosdick, Barry Denluck and Bob Wadsworth.
Bill Fosdick called the meeting to order at 7:19 PM
Name Tags
Catherine Culley has been printing the name tags and then dropping them off to Alanna. It would make sense to have the membership committee print the name tags. Michelle will check with Alanya to see if she is able to do the name tags.
Welcome Letter
Carolyn has an email version of the letter that is sent out to new members. Membership committee should be the one sending out the “Welcome Letter”. Passwords to the website should also be included in the letter.
Signs for the “New beekeepers corner”
A sandwich board type of signage to be made and used at the entrance of the building directing the “new beekeepers” to the lower area where the seminar for new beekeepers will be taking place.
Topics for the May
“New beekeepers corner” will be nutrition – protein pre-cursor – great information on this subject on Randy Oliver’s website.
Equipment needed for the lower area will be a projector and a lap top. Barry will price out a projector in the price range of $150 – $350. The club has an extra lap top. Barry will produce presentations. The recap and presentations could be added to the website.
Coffee and Refreshments
Volunteers are needed to take on this position.
Hosting the 2018 BCHPA AGM
Barry Denluck – a letter to be sent to the president of the BCHPA, Kerry Clark, confirming that the CRBA will host the 2018 BCHPA’s AGM. Barry has been scouting out venues for this event to be held.
- Union Club/Magnolia Hotel/Public parking within ½ block
- Empress Hotel
A possible date for this event could be the second weekend after Thanksgiving – October 19, 20 and 21, 2018.
Field Days
Bob Wadsworth gave the executive a presentation about field days. He is going to distribute the information to the executive by email for their input and suggestions.

Alanna Morbin
She has now collected all the money for the Iotron trip.
The club will give Bob Lucy $55.00 for the Iotron trip.
Reimburse Alanna for the cost of 2 subscriptions to the Bee Culture magazine (digital and hard copy).
Don Lambert is going to remake the club’s observation hive.
Alanna has been storing a very old, obsolete and heavy pop up tent which belongs to the club and she has sold it for $20.00 with the permission of the executive.
