A slightly belated Happy New Year to everyone! January is a wonderful time for beekeeping. The coming season is full of the promise of being the best one yet, and nothing has gone horribly amiss – yet…
And to minimize the chances of things going amiss, do take advantage of our monthly meetings, which give a combination of presentations on relevant topics in beekeeping, and a social time after the presentations to mix with other beekeepers, ask questions, talk about anything you want – all over a coffee or tea and a cookie.
Our monthly meeting is this Thursday, January 8th , 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Central Saanich Seniors Citizens Association, 1229 Clarke Rd., Brentwood Bay
We always meet on the second Thursday of each month (except for December) so mark your calendars!
And now a note about the vendor discounts you access with your club membership card. Membership conveys discounts on the purchase of beekeeping supplies not already on sale with Cowichan Bees, Borden’s Mercantile, and Buckerfields (but only the outlets on Keating XRoad and Langford).
But while your club membership is good until our Annual General Meeting in March, the club discounts are by calendar year. This means that you need to renew your membership early if you want to access your club discounts! Just don’t want you getting upset when you’re standing at the cashier with a mound of equipment…
Happy beekeeping!
Ps: Please let us know if you have any topics that you want us to discuss or present. Happy to accommodate!
