- Bill began the meeting @ 7:20pm
- Discussion regarding wasp traps
- Does a trap near/under/over the hive disturb the bees due to dying/buzzing, etc. wasps?
- Do wasp queens have vitologenin to survive winter?
- Glen Lyon has offered their location for Sept. meeting
- Can continue for $2K per year.
- All facilities we desire.
- On Beach Dr.
- Try it out for 6 months is an option.
- Minimal setup.
- A lot of other locations “aren’t ready yet” due to Covid.
- Prior church location was around $1800.
- New owners have sole tenant.
- Don wonders about Uvic
- Good for a presentation – bringing gear may be an issue.
- Schools have jacked up rates significantly.
- Bill will be away for Sep. meeting if interior fires are under control.

- Guy from Sooke with a cookbook about honey. (Nov?)
- Don has a Powerpoint on winter/vitellogenin/mites bees. (0.5hr)
- One big meeting – no beginner corner until layout/structure of new location determined (Oct – winterizing).

- Indoor gathering limit is still 50
- Masks recommended. Strongly recommend attendance only if you are double vaccinated.

- Volunteer slots are filled with at least one person.
- Need to determine how many volunteers we are allowed at once.

- We had directors’ liability and another before.
- We are members of Volunteer Canada – gets us directors and officers liability coverage.
- Now have bodily injury and property damage as well. BMS Risk Services.
- Motion to approve up to $450 for holiday greeting card by Cindy. 2nd by Don. Approved.
