Our web hosting company provides a Mailman service to distribute information to its subscribers. The newsletter mailing list is called news and conveniently goes by the name news@capitalregionbeekeepers.ca. Subscription to/removal from this list can be managed entirely through email.

How do I subscribe to the newsletter?

Send an email to news-join@capitalregionbeekeepers.ca. No email subject or body content is required, just a blank email. You should receive a confirmation email requesting that you accept your subscription to the mailing list. It may take a while for this process to complete and add you to our list (this includes both sending the confirmation email and the time to be signed up).

When you receive the email, click on the provided link, highlighted below:

You’ll be taken to a page where you can confirm your subscription to the list news. Answer “No” to the “Receive digests?” question. This allows you to receive emails from the list immediately when they’re posted. Don’t worry about setting password details or creating an account; it is not necessary. You can also delete the subsequent confirmation email that includes a password; it is not necessary to keep this.

Make sure content you receive from news@capitalregionbeekeepers.ca doesn’t end up in your spam or trash folder. That would just be useless, right?

How do I remove my subscription from the list?

Send an email to news-leave@capitalregionbeekeepers.ca. You should receive a confirmation email requesting that you accept your removal from the mailing list. It looks similar to one received for subscription (see above). It may take a while for this process to complete and remove you from our list, but this is normal.

Once you receive the email, simply click on the provided link and hit “Unsubscribe”.

Can I post a message to the subscription list?

No. The news@capitalregionbeekeepers.ca list is moderated with all messages received being rejected by default. Don’t worry, you’ll get a personable rejection response.
