Executive Meeting (April 2018)
April 16 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Attending: Bill Fosdick, Irene Tiampo, Kim Bowman, Carolyn Hissen, Barry Denluck, Tara Beninger and Alanna Morbin
Bill called the meeting to order at 7:14 pm.
The minutes of the AGM will be posted on the website but not the financials.
BCHPA conference – Barry gave the executive a synopsis of the planning for the conference in October. The financial structure is in place (Paypal, new bank account and etransfers). Jeff Lee is finalizing the speakers for the conference. The Sunday educational day will be split into parallel sessions. Jody Aylard will be the point person for the Vendors. There will be a separate page for the volunteers on the website. Larry Lindahl will judge the honey contest. Business day emcee will be Kerry Clark, president of the BCHPA. Saturday educational day will be emceed by Jeff Lee and the Sunday sessions will have both Jeff Lee and Barry Denluck. It appears that plans are well in hand for the conference and at the May meeting members will be asked to volunteer.

June Meeting – The willow lady as a guest speaker.
July Meeting – Getting nucs ready for over wintering.
The club is down to 1 extractor as the other has a problem that Jim Henry is looking into.

Small group organization – membership and small group committee to work together.
New members on-boarding – Kim needs to be informed directly from the sign ups on line. She is looking into having an electronic receipt issued to members.
Quadra Village Days – May 12th – Alanna will ask Joanne and Greg Davidson if they are going to do it this year.
Swarm Committee – Kim Bowman is heading the committee with mentorship from Jody Aylard.
Club Photographer – Vanessa Prescott – more photos for the website.
Iotron – to reduce costs to the membership the club sponsored the cost of the truck; approx $200. A motion for the club to pay for the cost of the truck to the Iotron in the amount of $200.00 was made by Alanna Morbin, seconded by Carolyn Hissen. Motion carried.
A motion to reduce the conference registration for volunteers who have substantially contributed to the BCHPA – AGM conference was made by Barry Denluck, seconded by Bill Fosdick. Motion carried.
